Discuss the impact of virtual communication in dynamic and structure and real live community.

 With the development of the computer and the introduction of the internet, the communication way of the people has changed from a traditional way to virtual community or the virtual communication. This indeed affects to the structure of the real life community. 

There are some positive impacts that influence the real life community. First of the positive impact is social circle can be expand. For an example, students might meet their lecturer and friends only in real life. But they can meet different kinds of people such as different kind of workers at different state or even more different country at the cyber world. They can communicate to each others that do not know in reality through cyber communication which may expand their social circle from a limited state to different state or even to global.

         Next, virtual communication would help those users who are less confident on communication in the real life. This is the platform to them to practice the way of communication and let them have a chances here to build up their confidence while communicate with others. This is because by using the social networking sites of Internet might let the unconfident user trying to built up their community in the visual world as they just need to type to express their feeling and chat with others by using words. They no need to have a face-to-face communication to the others and also not to bother on the pronunciation during the communication. Well, an example is that nowadays, most of the teenagers are spend their time on playing online games. This make them feel shy and unconfident to express their feeling to others in reality because they fail to have a face-to-face communication. But while they are using Internet to communicate in the virtual world, their characteristic may be change and become more active compare with in the real world. Because of this reasons, it may give them feel safeness which do not make them feel nervous while talking to others in the virtual world. So, through cyber communication it can help those unconfident user to build up their confidence while communicate with people where as in the virtual world or reality.

      Third, the expenses between cyber communication and sending message, cyber communication is cheaper. For an example, couples are willing choose cyber communication than sending message to chat with each other because at online not only free but also can open web camera to see each other’s face. If use sending message, will waste amore money compare with cyber communication. Moreover, cyber communication is faster than send message which can save the typing and sending message’s time. For an example, students who are discussing assignment will chose cyber communication because it can save a lot of time. They can open Messenger to chat at the same time while doing assignments by computer.

         Everything has own pros and cons. For cyber communication, not only good impact but also bring bad impact to our society. First, through cyber communication will make teenager lack of reality’s communication skill. Because nowadays, teenager choose cyber communication rather than reality communicate with others. This has made them rely on it and they will lazy to learn the skill in reality in order to maintain relationship with other people in the reality. When they come to society, it will bring bad effect to them because they do not know the skill to communicate with their boss either colleague which not just affects their career but also their entire life. They can’t depend on cyber communication for whole life instead of reality communication.

      Other than that, cyber communication has decreased the level of grammar. Nowadays, teenager use short form or other symbol to represent real word, such as “lol”, “cuz”, “gd9” and others. Not only use in cyber communication but also send message. This habit may brought into while writing paragraph which has decrease the level of grammar and increase a lot of grammar mistake. Although this short form is interesting but in proper English it means mistake. If teenager use it while writing proposal or formal letter, would they expect that everyone will understand what they were writing?  

       As a conclusion, we must appreciate the greatness of the convenience that brought by the technology development but not misused that, or else we will get into trouble for our own self.

Should parents allow children under the age of 12 to go on the Internet without adult supervision? Discuss.

Due to the technology development of Malaysia, no matter female or male, from the age range from 12 to 50 years old or even the children that under the age of 12 years old, they are using internet. The main purpose that they using Internet is to search for information, play online games or join those social networking sites. As my opinion, parents should not allow children that under the age of 12 years old to go on the Internet without adult supervision.

The main reason that parents should not allow them to go on the Internet without adult supervision because the thinking of the children that under age of 12 years old is not mature. In this age group, most of them can’t differentiate which of the online user whether are good or bad. With this, the children can easily get cheated by those online users who have other purpose other than make new friends or search information. For example, a robber who decides to rob a house can plan to get the home address from a child during online chatting by cheating him that he need the children’s address for sending gifts to the children. Besides, the immature thinking of the children tend to post out some sensitive issues likes prejudice toward the races to express their anger but they didn’t know that this will occur and bring up the conflict among the races.

In addition, children will also easy get the attracted from the online games and fall in the fantasy world without the supervision of adults. Once they get addicted in those online games, they will spend almost 12 hours a day and sit in front of the computer from morning until night. It will affect their healthy and academic indirectly because they rather spend a plenty of time online than doing their homework or communicate with family and friends. Besides that, they will also learn some bad language or short form through playing online games. As an example, WTH means What the Hell and Laugh Out Loud means LOL. This will affect their academic when comes to write essay. They will write out the short form without notice because they already get use to it.

Furthermore, the reason that parents should not allow children that under the age of 12 years old to go on the Internet without adult supervision because the curiosity of the children. For the computer that affected by the virus, sometimes there are some windows pop out while we surfing the Internet. Some is an advertisement whereas some of it is the photo or preview of some porn websites. With the curiosity of a child, they will just click in the website to check out what is the content about. They will find out a lot of pictures or preview once they access to the pornography website and this will totally affects their thinking in the future.

According to a Chinese proverb said that, ‘’curiosity of a person can kill an elephant’’ which means that it is very serious if a child been affected by those pornography websites since the age are only 12 years old. To prevent this happen, parents can just set a password to lock their computer in case that child wants to open. Then, parents should guide the children by scan or limit the sources before let their children go on the Internet.

As a parent, one should take the responsibility to take care of their children but not just focus on the career, especially in this advanced technology era. Children could easily get carried away in the internet without the guidance of the parents. Therefore, parents play an important role to look after their children.

The Internet is a place where hate groups come to inhabit. 

Discuss with relevant examples.

      Hate group, if defining word by word, hate is defined as “to loathe, or detest, while group is defined as “a number of persons or things gathered, located, or classified together”. Therefore, a hate group is two or more people who in an organization, club, religion or so forth, whose purpose is to promote some agenda of what they hate or against. They can advocates and practice hate, hostility, or violence among the members towards a race, ethnicity, gender, religion, sexual orientation or other designated sector of the society.

       Hate group started to inhabit in the internet since the development of the social networking sites. A study showed that there was only one hate website in the internet in 1995, but there are nearly 10,000 hate websites emerge nowadays! The internet has become a popular place for the hate group to inhabit, especially in the social networking sites. Internet has provided a very good platform and become a tool for the hate group to disseminate their agenda. Why is this happening?

       Firstly, internet is open to each of us. We can click and browse any website within a second, and there is no any obligation and rules that tell us cannot visit certain websites, because it is our freedom to use the internet. Hate group can easily post any information and advocate their own agenda to the whole world by just sitting down in front of the computer. Therefore, the members of the hate group can get updated all the time from the leader of the hate group. Internet certainly provides a platform for them to share within the group. For example, the hate group can easily create their own websites to spread the agenda. They just need a short moment to complete that.

       In facts, the internet has a wide coverage. This made the hate group easier to recruit the new members. They can recruit the hate group members in everywhere by just having the internet, as the internet has link the world together. Therefore, they can become stronger and stronger as the member increasing. Study found that there are more than 11,500 terrorist and racist websites, blogs, chat rooms and social networking pages using Twitter, Facebook and YouTube online for expressing their propaganda. Nowadays in Facebook also can easily create a group and can ask people for joining easily without any problem. They can exchange their information and get the information from all over the world. Internet can reach in a mass audience in facts.

       Besides, the responsible that exist in the virtual world also become lesser, as no one will know who you are actually in the real world. Therefore, the hate group can spread whatever they want in the internet and in the social networking sites. It is hard to track you in the virtual world as there are no evidence through the internet. The hate group can use a fake identity to disseminate the agenda without anybody knowing it. The freedom on the internet is more than the real world, this is why hate group start to inhabit actively in the internet.

       To conclude this, we must always be aware and alert while visiting any websites in the internet. With this, only we can identify who are the hate group and think critically before we start to express our opinion.
